September 2025 – Development Update

Let’s start with the not-so-great part before diving into all the excitement ahead.

😞 The Bad News
The Feasibility Grant application is taking every ounce of focus and time, it’s a mountain of forms, numbers, and government portals that all need to line up perfectly. But this is an essential step to secure our future, so we’re giving it everything we’ve got.

🎉 The Good News (and there’s plenty!)

1️⃣ We’re Official!
Seven Castles Games is now a Limited Company registered with the CRO (Companies Registration Office in Ireland).
It’s a huge milestone, we’re officially stepping out of the prototype stage and into the real world as a proper studio. The dream is becoming a tangible business!

2️⃣ The Grant Is Almost There
We’re in the final stretch of the Feasibility Grant process and feeling optimistic about the outcome. With just a few final documents pending, we hope to unlock the resources we need to bring Steam Cities and Equestrian closer to full production. Bureaucracy willing, we’ll wrap this up by October 20th or extend slightly if needed. 🤞

3️⃣ Tabletopia Is Live and Updated!
All our game files are now uploaded with the latest updates and ready for online playtesting. We’ve reopened community sessions so everyone can dive into the newest builds directly from home. The platform now hosts both Steam Cities and Equestrian, each freshly updated and balanced.

🏗 Development & Milestones

Steam Cities continues to lead the way.
This month, we’ve been:

• Finalising the new rebalance and printing updated prototypes
• Advancing 3D component models for cities and upgrades
• Hitting halfway through the amazing 50–100 playtest milestone (read more about our milestones here!)
• Focusing all design efforts on moving Steam Cities to the next stage of development

And yes… we even launched our new online store!
You can now grab Seven Castles merchandise to directly support the games’ development. Every mug, shirt, or hoodie helps us push these projects closer to reality.

🎮 What’s Next

We’re preparing our prototypes for Gaelcon 37 in Dublin this October, and we can’t wait to meet players in person again! It’ll be a big moment to showcase the progress made since our early playtests.

Meanwhile, we’re also starting early talks with private investors to complement the funding stage and accelerate production once the grant results are in.
