September was a major month for Steam Cities. We completed the artwork for the Kickstarter campaign, launched the pre-launch page, and started running ads to bring new people to the project.
We also set a new target launch date: 25 November 2026.
That date is still our goal, but it depends on a few important pieces coming together, especially reviewer copies arriving on time, final prototype refinements, and resolving some manufacturing issues.
Kickstarter Campaign Is Live
The Steam Cities Kickstarter pre-launch page is now live, and our advertising campaign is successfully bringing a lot of visitors to the page.
However, we need your help with one very important action: clicking “Notify me on launch.”
This is one of the key indicators we use to understand whether the campaign will be successful. Followers help Kickstarter understand that there is real interest in Steam Cities, and a strong follower base can make a huge difference on launch day.
👉 Visit the page and click “Notify me on launch”:

Even if you already plan to back the game, clicking “Notify me” now helps us enormously.
Artwork Completed
One of the biggest achievements this month was completing the artwork for the Kickstarter campaign. The game is looking stronger than ever, and we are excited to start sharing more of the final visuals, components, and gameplay details with you over the coming weeks.
Target Launch Date: 25 November
We now have a target date of 25 November 2026 for the Kickstarter launch.
While this is the date we are working towards, we want to be transparent: it is not fully confirmed yet. The final launch date depends on several factors, including:
- Reviews and previews arriving in time to be published before launch.
- Final refinements to the prototypes.
- Resolving remaining production and logistics issues.
- Making sure the campaign page, assets, and fulfilment plans are ready.
We would rather launch when the campaign is properly prepared than rush it and risk a weaker launch.
Reviewer Copies and Delivery Issues
Unfortunately, September also brought several challenges with reviewer copies.
Some packages did not reach reviewers, while others were delayed or sent to incorrect addresses. As a result, we were not able to reach as many reviewers as we had hoped during this period.
We are actively working through these issues, correcting addresses, resending packages where needed, and following up with reviewers. Getting Steam Cities into the hands of reviewers remains a priority, because their coverage will help more people discover the game before launch.
Manufacturing Challenges
We also faced further issues on the manufacturing side. One of the machines used to produce the game inserts broke down and was unable to produce inserts at the quality level we expect for Steam Cities.
We are working with the manufacturer to resolve this and ensure the final components meet the standard we want for the game. Quality remains more important to us than speed especially for a component-heavy strategy game like Steam Cities.
